Hoka Evo Speedgoat Trail Running Shoes
Named after Karl Meltzer aka “The Speedgoat”, who holds the record for the most 100-mile trail race wins and epitomises the “go everywhere, run everything” attitude, this shoe is designed to attack all kinds of technical trail. With that in mind, Hoka has further improved the fit, stability and durability of the Evo Speedgoat .
Hoka have designed the Evo Speedgoat with a high-tensile synthetic fibre strands across the midfoot for unparalleled strength and durability at minimal weight. Foot mapping support is another key feature of the MATRYX Upper providing you with enhanced breathability to keep your feet cool and dry. The non-wicking treated fabric optimises water drainage, keeping the feet as dry as possible on those tougher terrains. A breathable vamp provides a comfortable fit with improved forefoot flexibility for those technical trails keeping you stable and balanced. A gusseted tongue prevents migration across the instep protecting your feet from the loose terrain. MATRYX is perfect to give you comfort over long miles, ensuring your feet won’t feel tired and you can carry on running.
Oversized EVA midsole has been chosen to construct the midsole of the Evo SpeedGoat. This material was specifically chosen as it provides lightweight cushioning which helps to keep the wearer’s feet as comfortable and supportive as possible. The light EVA is also ideal for this running shoe as it prevents the wearer from feeling weighed down and will keep the wearer feeling light and quick on their feet. Another type of foam used to create the midsole is CMEVA. This material helps the midsole to absorb impact in key areas of the shoe and helps to stabilise the foot to keep the wearer firmly on their feet. A wider platform and toe box within the shoe is designed to provide a more stable based on a wide variety of terrain so you can have assured footing no matter how challenging the ground beneath you may be.
Vibram MegaGrip Outsole
The Vibram MegaGrip that has been used to construct this outsole is a high-performance rubber compound that features unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces, rugged longevity and optimal ground adaptability. This also made it the perfect material for trail shoes that have been designed to tackle the toughest, most technical terrain. The aggressive Multidirectional 5mm lugs across the outsole have been strategically placed to help the shoe to offer supreme grip on all kinds of rugged terrain. A more durable outsole design, the Evo Speedgoat is made to withstand every challenge thrown its way.
Who Are HOKA One One
Hoka One One is the brainchild of two gravity sports enthusiasts Jean-Luc Diard and Nicolas Mermoud. Both men have been adventuring for as long as they can remember, and their trail running experiences have taken them across the globe. Both Jean-Luc and Nicolas are committed to the values of freedom and enjoyment and feel that this is part of the running experience whether running on the trail or in the city. With this in mind they started to look at the variables that affected the performance of different types of runners. They quickly came to an important conclusion; fatigue, impacts and muscle strains were challenges that runners of all stripes had to deal with every day. So Jean-Luc and Nicolas came up with a brilliant idea, why not design a shoe that would help to alleviate these problems – so that freedom and enjoyment could be guaranteed every time you go running! From that idea Hoka One One was born. The word Hoka is derived from the ancient Maori language and roughly translated to “now it is time to fly”. That’s just how it feels to run in a pair of Hoka One One shoes; with each and every step, your foot flies. Today’s runners from around the world are learning about the benefits of Hoka One One, they have been used by marathon winners. 50 miles, 100 miles and even 2000+ miles ultra-runners as well as runners just like you or I, who want to enjoy running, perform at their peak and feel that important sense of freedom whilst maintaining top physical performance and protecting against shocks, jolts and injuries. So put your best foot forward, it’s time to fly!
